Veronica Jakubus
Thank you for visiting our Long School website. Long School offers many exceptional opportunities for our students to grow and learn in a caring environment. I am fortunate in serving the Long School community as the Principal, Veronica Jakubus.
My career as an educator spans more than 20 years. I have taught in several area school districts, as well as private schools, before coming to Dearborn. I have taught Kindergarten through fifth grade including several combined grade classes. I served as an Assistant Principal for four years and was selected Principal of Long School in 2006.
In addition to my position at Long School, I am an adjunct faculty member and coordinate the children’s dance program at Marygrove College. Something many people may not know about me is, before my career as an educator, I danced professionally with the Lexington Ballet in Kentucky and Dance Detroit here in Michigan. When I am not at school, I enjoy traveling with my husband and daughter. I also read all the time. I believe reading is another exciting way of traveling. I encourage you all to take a journey with a good book soon.
