The staff at Long Elementary is eager to begin a partnership with you as we work together to provide a challenging, safe, fun and memorable school year for our students. The first day of school is August 29th. This is a half day.
Class Rosters
Class rosters will be posted on Friday, August 26th after 5pm. Rosters will be displayed on entry doors.
First Day of School Line Up
Teachers will meet their students in the morning. For the safety of our students and staff and due to safety protocols, parents will not be allowed in the building for entry or dismissal. If you need assistance or have a meeting with a staff member, you will need to come to the main doors and sign in.

Soft Start to Kindergarten
Soft Start is a district initiative focused on a slower transition for our youngest students into elementary school. Kindergarten students have half days from August 29th until September 9th. Kindergarten teachers will be sending information to their students and signing students up for individual assessments so we can make every minute count this year. Kindergarten students first full day of school is Monday, September 12th.
Important Dates
- Monday, August 29th: First day of school (9:00 am – 12:05 am).
- Tuesday, August 30th: First full day of school (9:00 am – 3:55 pm) for grades 1 through 5.
- Tuesday, August 30th – Friday, September 9th: Kindergarten Soft Start (9:00 a.m. – 12:05 p.m.).
- Friday, September 2nd and Monday, September 5th: No School, Labor Day Recess
- Thursday, Sept 8th: Open House (6:00pm – 7:30pm)
