The value and diversity of reading has been particularly emphasized at Long School this week. On Wednesday, Johnathan Rand, author of the Michigan and American Chillers series, visited Long and shared many of his experiences including one of his favorite quotes “Reading isn’t something you do, Reading is a place that you go. Books don’t have covers, they have doors.” Wow, that’s deep. In addition, our music teachers incorporated reading and original compositions into the pieces students performed during their concert on Thursday. We finished the week with a ‘Sit in and Read’ activity to celebrate our groovy Reading Month.
