Our Student Advisory Council created a slide show for Black History Month. Students selected a historical figure to research, created a slide and presented to third, fourth and fifth graders.
Today, February 24th, Long Elementary is closed again due to no power. Most schools in the district are open. Please see the previous post for a list of schools impacted by the power outages.
Our kindergarten students were counting and creating artwork today! The students were very focused and having fun too!

Mrs. Bartolomei’s class read “Stone Soup”. The class then made soup and enjoyed a treat.
On February 7th, our students will enjoy a NED Assembly. This assembly is on mindset promoting goal setting and determination.
Dr. Maleyko will be joining us at Long Elementary on February 9th at 5pm. Parents and community members are welcome to join us, ask question and share feedback with our superintendent.
All school snowman making activity. We talked about why some snowfalls are good for snow packing and why some aren’t. Students worked together and each class made at least one. Lots of smiles and giggles today.
In an effort to be prepared, we had a lockdown drill today. The students and staff did an excellent job. In preparation, teachers have read the book, “I’m not scared, I’m prepared because I know all about ALICE.” Staff practiced barricading the door with students today.
